Conservatives have always been pro green energy but it has to be the right measures in the right place. Solar panels on houses and commercial premises is the right thing to do but covering our prime agricultural land in Chinese plastic panels, 4.5 metres high, decimating communities and wildlife, is just wrong.
You may hear others say they are against solar farms but look at their record before you are taken in by their rhetoric. Reform UK councillors at Norfolk County Council voted to SUPPORT these solar factories in May 2025, now Nigel Farage says he’s against them.
Do you believe him, or is this just a a convenient political bandwagon to jump on because there’s an election on?
Massive pylons marching across our landscape towards London, solar factories and battery energy storage systems all along the route, cable routes ripping up verges and rural roads, compulsory purchase of people’s land, is this what we want? These developments do not even benefit the communities they are built in, the power goes through them, not to them.
The companies behind these monstrosities don’t care about the local impact, this isn’t about the environment, it’s about profit.
The fields that are dug up and covered by these developments may never recover, meanwhile, local people’s property is devalued and wildlife is fenced out.
Norfolk Conservatives will oppose all of this, using legal challenges and people power and anything else at our disposal, because we care about our countryside, our residents and our environment.
We will not allow any solar factories on Norfolk County Council farms, we will instruct legal counsel to oppose any planning permissions and we will support local communities in their quest to prevent this happening.
You cannot trust Reform UK, they don’t know what they’re doing.
Only Norfolk Conservatives have been against these developments from the very start.
